A walk on the wild side

Harlow-Carr

If you thought RHS Harlow Carr was just about the plants, grab your wellies, throw the kids in the car and have another look.  Breathe in the fresh air and take in the stunning gardens whilst watering the seeds of your children’s imagination.

Start at the log pile snake and then make your way stealthily through the deep dark wood. Don’t make too much noise though or you might wake the Gruffalo.   When you get to Tiger Lily’s village check the area for Captain Hook and his pirates. Chase them down to Peter Pan’s tree house and sword fight across the rope bridge, make them walk the wobbly plank and then lose them and their shadows in the maze of  Never land!   First one to the crow’s nest wins the treasure (remember to take treasure)

After all this excitement you should now be able to meander slowly back through the gardens, taking in the beauty of the expertly  created landscape or perhaps view the paintings in the bath house and finally indulge everyone in hot chocolate and fat rascals at Bettys Tea Rooms. A blissful day for you and your kids!
