Fast forward a few years and they have probably found that’ safe’ restaurant where if they are quick they can just about finish one course and glass of wine before the menu/colouring page has been scribbled over and discarded and it is OK that there is more food on the table/floor/and generally everywhere. Throw into the equation the knocked over drinks, bribes to sit down and the fact that your gorgeous offspring has only picked at everything except the ice cream.
If you fantasise about the old days of really good Sunday lunches, where you can sit enjoying a great bottle of wine, then look no further than Le Box Bistro in Boston Spa. First and foremost the Sunday lunch in this restaurant is nothing less than spectacular, the roast beef and Yorkshire pudding is amongst the best ever tasted. There is an extensive wine list of exceptional wines available by the glass or the bottle. It feels like a proper restaurant but with a relaxed atmosphere, it was full of families with young children when we were there but still felt like an adult space. There is a separate table set up with colours, jigsaws and games to keep the kids occupied while you relax.
If you decide on 3 courses, the adults menu is £19.95 and the children’s £4.95, the children ate every morsel of their lunch, which means that this is a treat you can keep coming back to again and again.
