These are a quick and easy canapé that can be made ahead of time, ready to pop in the oven when your guests arrive.
Ingredients
1 pack filo pastry – approx 12 sheets
150g Brie
Jar of cranberry
50g butter or oil
Method
Cut the Brie into small pieces and set aside, then melt the butter, if using.
Cut the filo sheets into 36 evenly sized squares, approximately 10cm x 10cm, try to work quickly so the filo doesn’t dry out.
For each moneybag use three squares of filo, brush the individual small squares with oil or butter and place on top of each other to make a rough six pointed star shape.
Place a small piece of Brie in the middle of the star and add a teaspoon of cranberry sauce.
Bring the points of the stars together above the Brie and pinch to seal the parcel.
Place on a lined baking sheet and cook in a pre heat 180’ oven for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
These are a real versatile vegetarian canapé that can be made bigger and used as a starter, they make an excellent Christmas Day starter! If making as a starter heat a little of the cranberry sauce with a splash of port or sloe gin to serve with it.
