Date, stilton and basil canapes

With Christmas just around the corner the chances are you’ll be entertaining sometime over the festive period. These canapés are not only delicious but vegetarian and gluten free so can cover a multitude of your guest’s requirements, a real crowd pleaser!

 

 

Ingredients

180g pack Medjool Dates – approx 10/12.

100g Blue Stilton.

1 tablespoon of finely chopped basil leaves.


Method

Place the Stilton in a bowl and mash with a fork, add the chopped basil and continue to mash until combined.

Cut the dates lengthways at one side and remove the stone, then fill the middle with the stilton and basil mixture.

Place on a baking tray and heat in a 180oc oven for 3/4 minutes.

Serve to your guests but remember the cheese can be very hot straight from the oven!
