Sometimes you come across a completely unexpected find that you just can’t keep to yourselves, sometimes you come across four!
What is so great about these unexpected finds is that they were discovered completing other necessary tasks, one while supermarket shopping, a couple while replacing badly greying baggy underwear (a whole other article we think) and one while wondering shell shocked around Reiss remembering a pre kids career.
The Lipgloss
We thought our lipgloss days were over until we came across these little beauties in………Sainsburys!! We can’t rave about these enough. No sparkly bits in them, not ‘wet look’ i.e. would not be suitable in a porn movie, a really phenomenal range of colours, seem to stay on better than most and only £6 so you can collect all the colours. By far and away the biggest selling point we found though was that they are slightly more forgiving on a mildly older, less plump, teensy bit wrinkly lip.
We are not in any way condoning drinking or not using a proper cleansing routine but we all have those evenings when the thought of taking off your make up seems like an ordeal too far. Should you find yourself in that situation the Skyn Iceland Glacial Cleansing Cloths are the answer, free from parabens, petroleum, mineral oil and sulfates, no testing on animals They are 100% vegan. They contain white willow bark, a salicylic acid soothes irritation and helps prevent breakouts and congestion in the skin.
Cucumber and cornflower extracts help soothe, soften and tone skin. Coconut, oat and amino acid-based surfactants provide extra-gentle cleansing and Icelandic kelp helps revitalise skin and fight inflammation. Which hard to find emporium of beauty will you find this genius product, Marks and Spencer £13.
Brows are big at the moment, literally. Whilst the youth of today is revelling in the glory of their full lush brows, some of us remember and deal on a daily bases the aftermath of the 90s power arch. There are an abundance of brow treatments and products that promise a Delevingnesque brow but for those of you who have other considerations in the morning we recommend the Pur Wake Up Brow Pencil. Everything you need for ease and results in one pencil. Also from Marks and Spencer £14.
It is exceptionally easy to get stuck in a fragrance rut and why not, with so many on the market sometimes its hard to see the musk for the roses. We stumbled across Reiss Grey Flower while in said store and have been addicted ever since. It contains armoise, pimento berry, sequoia wood, jasmine noir, cocoa leaf, olibanum, amber crystals, patchouli and baies which translates into delicious. If you are feeling generous the Reiss Black Oudh is neck nestlingly good on a man. Starts at £25 each for 30ml.
