Forbidden Corner

forbidden corner 2

There is nothing funnier to a child of a certain age than a burp, make it come out of a giant mouth with a huge grotesque dangling tonsil that bashes you as you walk past and you pretty much have a days entertainment sewn up. But there is so much more to this totally unique corner of the Dales. The beautiful drive up through picturesque towns and villages in Wensleydale is worth the trip alone.

Forbidden Corner

Once there, there are gardens and mazes, castles and crypts and a series of dungeons and tunnels that if any of you ventured into The Palladium NYC circa 1989, will give you all manner of flashbacks!

This is probably not a place for very young children unless they are able to watch the whole Harry Potter boxset from start to finish without crying, but older children will love the labyrinth of paths and doorways, tunnels and chambers. You are never quite sure what you are going to find or indeed what is going to find you (take a waterproof!)
