Jeans are sometimes a thorny issue, they can be the barometer to how you feel (fat day jeans??)
It used to be that there were a handful of brands and a couple of styles but now its hard to know whats current and what style suits. So we have put together this little Earth, Wit and Style guide to help you find the perfect style.
So lets start with the waist, you can get three different cuts on the waist high, mid and low. High rise sit on or near your waist, low are the ones that make your bum fall out when you sit down and mid is somewhere in-between. Thankfully high rise has made a massive comeback over the last couple of years but if you find these a little unforgiving (around the tummy) mid rise also everywhere.
Skinny was king for a number of years and whilst easy to wear there are again quite unforgiving. The boyfirend thankfully came into being a few years ago and was closely followed by the girlfriend, slightly less voluminous. This year look out for the straight, slim and slightly flared.
And the length? There are a lot of cropped jeans and big turn ups for the summer. Frayed hems have been big for the last year so if you want to update a favourite pair chop off the bottom and pull out some strands.
Look out for some old brands coming back like Lee and Wrangler. Levis have been the most successful of these comebacks, with companies like RE/DONE customising and selling like hotcakes through Net-a-Porter.
