On our way into York on a murky Saturday afternoon my difficult to please youngest (age 9) said he wanted to choose what we did from now on because this was NOT how he wanted to spend the day. On the way back he said it was the best day EVER! And so ends my review of The Chocolate Story, all you need to know is it makes kids happy?
Well I will give you a bit more than that because this really was a great few hours in York. The Chocolate Story is not a cheap day out and you would be wise to book but it was SO engaging. They made sure you knew the history of chocolate and how it came to York in a way that kept you gripped. And lets be honest this is a fascinating story about some great York characters.
By the end of the tour we had tasted chocolate in all it’s states from raw to white, made lollies and watched the skill involved in making truffles. As a true chocoholic I have to admit that by the time we left I was a little chocolated out, not helped by the delicious Mint Aero Brownie I had in the ground floor coffee shop while we waited to go in.
So we would strongly recommend you visit The Chocolate Story, if only so you can wow your friends with amazing Kit Kat facts.
